Horse Drawn Trams The Douglas Horse Drawn Tram began its route in 1876 and is one of the world's oldest surviving services of its kind. The noble beasts that pull the load have the weight eased by the roller bearings fitted to the tram. The tram goes along the promenade, with signs posted at stops.
